Application Developers work across the full lifecycle of software engineering. You will write code and develop a deep understanding of how technology functions from initial development to delivery. From working with customers to understand their challenges, to determining requirements, designing software, testing and going live — the solutions you create will drive our business forward.

Typically developers will be concerned with design and development of solutions (generally object oriented design), but will also shape development best practice. In this role, you could be sitting on the trading floor, iteratively developing solutions with traders, operations or other functions — or liaising with marketers to solve problems, deliver new business projects or enhance existing applications. You will learn the realities of real-time coding in an electronic trading environment. You may even be required to develop an understanding of the intricacies of developing a pricing system that requires up to 80 inputs to value a complex financial product.
