Houston is home to a unique technology environment for JPMorgan Chase. First introduced six years ago, this is a site focused purely on development. The North American Technology Center located here is home to technologists, and their work is dedicated to development, planning, business analysis, support and applications – essentially, this is a technology shop.
Although all of the projects here support the wider business, there are no other lines of business based in this location, so this is a dedicated technology center. We have a development atmosphere that empowers us to deliver great results for the business. Our team is rewarded by knowing that every tool they create here in Houston will be empowering their end-user colleagues around the firm to do great work.
Our site may be exclusive to technology but our impact extends across the business. We manage the credit risk infrastructure, pulling data from across the lines of business and geographies to create one system for reporting. We support algorithmic trading and have created applications designed to facilitate interactions between JPMorgan Chase and Bloomberg. We create systems to manage legal documentation, invent iPad applications for traders, maintain hardware and data centers and provide ATM support. Put simply, we work across any line of business, using multiple software suites and techniques, and our projects are as varied as the firm itself.
Houston attracts people with its opportunity and optimism. It's a diverse city with plenty of cultural opportunities, from the university scene and sports teams, to arts and museums. JPMorgan Chase is active in the community by supporting various volunteer projects like the Houston to Austin bike ride to benefit Multiple Sclerosis research, beach clean-ups and housing repair for those in need.
